The Flåm Railway. Flam. Viking Valley. Waterfalls, Norway.

Leaving Bergen we headed to Tvindefossen waterfall near Voss, Norway. The many-stranded waterfall, usually said to be 152 m high, is formed by a small stream, the Kroelvi, tumbling over a receding cliff. It is famous for its beauty. At one point it was Norway's ninth most visited natural attraction, with 272,000 visitors!

From the Waterfalls we went on towards Viking Valley. Njardarheimr - Viking Valley - Viking Valley, Gudvangen - in the heart of the unique UNESCO listed Norwegian fjord landscape - is the setting for the town of Njardarheimr, bringing to life the real history and culture of the Viking age.

Travel thousand years back and experience how it was to be a Viking. In Njardarheimr Viking Valley, you get to explore a real Viking community with real Vikings that lives almost like in the Viking age most of the year. Walking around the town of Njardarheimr, you get to understand who the Vikings were and where they came from. The village consists of many small huts that are outfitted with Viking tools and decor.

NOTE: This place was extremely hard to find on GPS, and using a MAP! Plan for extra time if you are stopping here on your Norway Road Trip!!

Capturing Viking Valley on video.

When we finished our time learning about the Vikings at Viking Valley we headed to catch a train and take a ride on the The Flåm Railway and then checked into our hotel for the evening. We made it just in time! We had purchased our train tickets ahead of time as was recommended with our research. It was very busy!

Just like a scene from a fairy tale novel - Norway.... this about sums it up. It looks like this pretty much everywhere in Norway and its so beautiful! The train ride was one of the best things we did on our trip. So much fun! Very scenic!

Make sure you get off the train for the 5-min wait for a surprise!

Doing some filming on the way back to Flam.

So many folks got off at the first stop, we were happy to take the return ride back to Flam and enjoy this train car almost to our selves.

Almost back to Flam.

Flam, Norway. Flåm - The small village with the grand surroundings. All aboard! Today was filled with waterfalls and train rides! The train even allowed time to get off and view the waterfall! Each year, several hundred thousand visitors arrive in Flåm to ride with the Flåmsbana Railway. At the innermost bank of the Aurlandsfjord, surrounded by steep mountains, thundering waterfalls and narrow valleys, you’ll find the small village of Flåm. Flåmsbana (the Flåm Railway) was named the world’s most incredible train journey by Lonely Planet in 2014.

The journey takes you from Flåm by the fjord to the top of the mountains, and during the 12-mile train ride (one hour each way) you can see rivers cutting through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down the sides of steep, snow-capped mountains and mountain farms clinging dizzily to steep hillsides. #flam #norway #Flåmsbana #Railway #trainride #trainjourney #sjrnorway2018 #flamrailway #adventuredoneright #norwaybyrail #norwaylandscape #norwaymountains #allaboard

Hotel: Flam, Flamsbrygga Briggerihottellet - Flåmsbrygga Hotel – another hotel along our Norway Roadtrip! - the Brewery/Hotel is situated on the pier in Flåm with a splendid view of the Aurlandsfjord. Just a few steps from the express boat and the Flåm Railway, yet still quiet and paceful. Flåmsbrygga includes Flåmsbrygga Hotel - the Brewery Hotel, Ægir BrewPub.

Fantastic dinner and even better company to share the meal with. The courtyard, is surrounded by gardens and parks, with magnificent mountains, a beach and boat life nearby, and boasts views over the fjord. #flamhotel #breweryhotel #aurlandsfjord #handcraft breweries #vikingstyle #roomwithaview #roomwithabalcony #fjordview #adventuredoneright #flam #norway #sjrnorway2018 #inthemountains #onthewater
